Changes to Group Access if a user is set as an Athlete AND a Coach or vice versa

Some organisations and teams have been assigning both coach AND athlete access for the same user within a parent-child grouping structure. Because some modules work exclusively based on coach or athlete set up, the current grouping system was upgraded to match these changing work flows. Now access is set based on each subgroup, not just on parent group set up.

The user here has access to some groups as an athlete and some groups as a coach within the same Parent-Child grouping structure

The list of groups as a coach and an athlete are shown here for the User "Test.Athlete"

On the application, when this user changes Group they can only load groups they are in as an athlete individually, not from the parent group

On the application, when this user changes Group they can only load groups they are in as an athlete individually, not from the parent group

The example here shows that the Parent Group is a Parent of the Sub 1, Sub 2 and Sub 3 Groups. The user will only be able to load the Parent Group as an athlete and they will not be able to access any of the underlying subgroup athletes.

Parent Group as an Athlete, only loads themselves

Parent Group as an Athlete, only loads themselves

This user can only view their own data when loading the Parent Group that they are added to as an Athlete

This user can only view their own data when loading the Parent Group that they are added to as an Athlete

If this user loads a subgroup that they access to as a coach they can view all athletes in that group

If this user loads a subgroup that they access to as a coach they can view all athletes in that group

If they are BOTH the Coach AND an Athlete for the SAME Group they will get access to all of the athletes and their own data

If they are BOTH the Coach AND an Athlete for the SAME Group they will get access to all of the athletes and their own data

N.B. If they were added as the Coach of a Parent Group, they would be able to load all subgroups as normal
