Using a Date in the Linking form to filter Linked Value/Text/Option Fields

You can now filter Linked Fields (Options, Numbers and Text) by matching to a specific date field in the form you are linking to. For example, if an injury occurred on a specific date and you wanted to pull through training load on that specific date, you could set up a linked value and filter by the new Dynamic Date filter. Then, if a training load was entered on the day the injury occurred, this would pull through.

Date can be tracked in one form and linked in to a separate form, but only data entered on a specific date in the source form will pull through

To set up a link this way it MUST set to have a special "Dynamic Date" for the Select Value setting in the Calculation Properties

Then select the Date field in the current form that you want the linked data to match to

For this example, the field called "Target Date" is being used as the filter. This means, ONLY data in the source form that is entered on the date that matches the Target Date will pull through as linked fields into the current form.

For the Date setting, do NOT select "All History and Future" or it will break. Please leave the setting on All History and Include All

Multiple entries can be made for the source event (e.g. where you are pulling it from)

When the form is entered that pulls data from the source form, it limits the data by the specified target date; so ONLY date entered on the date that match the Target Date will pull through.

N.B. If NO data has been entered on the Target Date in the Source form, then no data will pull through

N.B. If NO data has been entered on the Target Date in the Source form, then no data will pull through

No data has been entered on this Target Date, so the fields remain blank.

Please note that the functionality works on the assumption that you only have one event form for the Target Date to pull data from.  If you have two for more source forms entered on the target date it will select only one of them to display.
