There have been a number of improvements in the reports module and being able to create PDF and excel reports from the reports module.

A User can now generate a Report and run a filter or rank and these settings are retained in the PD, or Excel. The example her shows a 40m sprint report sorted by Rank

A User can now generate a Report and run a filter or rank and these settings are retained in the PD, or Excel. The example her shows a 40m sprint report sorted by Rank

Previously when you ran a report on your reports page and set it to rank by player name or  a specific score, the pdf generated would simply export the date by date of entry. Now the pdf and excel retain the sorting you have set up in your report. The image here shows that 40m sprint report is being sorted by 40 time rank.

If you select to run the Excel of the report it will retain the ranking by the 40m sprint column

The Entered By and About Columns in Reports are now ONLY showing as 60 pixels wide, and do not wrap and take up 2 lines

The Entered By and About Columns in Reports are now ONLY showing as 60 pixels wide, and do not wrap and take up 2 lines

Previously on the reports pages the Entered By and About columns showed the full names of the Users. Now these are set to cut off at 60 pixels to reduce space. Previously if a user had a long name it would wrap the text and take up 2 rows of data.  Now it only takes up one.

Now Each Report that you Save must on the reports page must have a unique name. You cannot name the name of an existing report.

If you choose to Save a report, each report that you save on the system must now have a unique name. Previously, you could have multiple reports with the same name. Now, you will not be able to save reports with a new name from now on.

If you try and save a new report that has the same name of an existing report, you will receive the following error message

If you try and save a new report that has the same name of an existing report, you will receive the following error message

This is the error message that will show if you try and save a report with the same name as an existing report.  This occurred because a report was saved with the name 10m less than 1.8 and that report name was already saved (as shown in the image in the step above).

N.B. You do not want to tick Prevent this page from creating additional dialog's.

Each PDF and Excel Report Name downloaded off the site will have a unique name. This overcomes the issue that Chrome had where it could not open a report that had the same name

Each PDF and Excel Report Name downloaded off the site will have a unique name. This overcomes the issue that Chrome had where it could not open a report that had the same name

Previously on Chrome if you downloaded a PDF or Excel report and it was called the same name as an existing downloaded report that was open Chrome would not open the second report. Now all reports have a unique name and this overcomes the issue from Chrome.

Each PDF generated from the Reports Page or the Athlete History now shows the Date that the report was generated for. This example shows that ALL History was selected

This example shows that the last 2 years was selected, and this appears at the top of the PDF Report

Whatever dates or date ranges you choose in the Select Data to View section on the left of the page, this will now appear at the top of your pdf report.
