Start Time and End Time can used in Calculations and can be linked between Event Forms

Previously, there were a number of workflows that had been set up attempting to track and report "Time" as a field. However, depending on the way the workflow was set up, and the type of date field it was referencing, the calculation could be incorrect (e.g., referening Entered On in a calculations was not supported), and there were still a number of limitations associated with alternate workflows. The Time Calculation and Time Difference Fields now enable users to accurately measure and store time in an Event Form. Mover, the addition of Start Time and End Time as a Report Property to include, ensure start time and end time can always be accessed.

N.B. If there is a date override field in the Event Form, the Start Time will always default to 12:00.

New Calculations: Time Calculation and Time Difference Calculation

New Calculations: Time Calculation and Time Difference Calculation

The Time Calculations can reference Event Start and Event End (the Start  and End Time that appear as part of the On Date selection)

The Time Calculations can reference Event Start and Event End (the Start  and End Time that appear as part of the On Date selection)

Any other Time field can be used for selection, for example: a Time field added to the Event Form, or a Time Field Linked from another Event Form (via a Linked Time Field)

The example here shows the Time Calculations here are returning the Start Time and the End Time

The Time Difference can calculate difference between any two time fields (e.g., the Date from and to times)

The Time Difference can calculate difference between any two time fields (e.g., the Date from and to times)

"From Time" is the Time we use to start the difference calculation and the "To Time" is the Time we use to calculate the time elapse until. In this example here, the "This Start" (Start Time) and "This Finish" (End Time) are being referenced in the time fields, respectively.

CRITICAL: You MUST ensure you set the Time Display Units to the smallest possible metric you need, otherwise it will round the calculation to the closest whole unit (e.g. seconds, minutes or hours)

CRITICAL: You MUST ensure you set the Time Display Units to the smallest possible metric you need, otherwise it will round the calculation to the closest whole unit (e.g. seconds, minutes or hours)

It needs to be set to the smallest Unit that you require. For example,  if you set it to "hours" and the event was 45 minutes, it will round to 1 hour, but if it was only 15 minutes, it will round to 0 hours. Ensure you set this accordingly, and MAKE sure you have tested it BEFORE it goes into production with clients.

Linked Time Field: Time can now be Linked from one Event Form to another Event Form (in the same manner as Dates or Numbers etc.)

Add in a Linked Time Field, and then select the Event Form and the Field that you want to link to. Note, manual update has been set up for each of the Linked Time Fields pulling into the form.

CRITIAL: TIME CALCULATIONS ARE NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED FOR USE IN TABLES. DO NOT USE THEM IN A TABLE OF DATA.
