Doctors and Physiotherapists: How to update existing medical records using the Athlete History Module on the iPad/iPhone system
If you are a Doctor or Physio you may be used to opening and updating your existing injury/illness records from your Front Page Reports (as shown here)
Or, you may be used to opening and updating the Injury/Medical Records from the Sidebar (as shown here)
On the iPad/iPhone system you cannot access the Sidebar or the Front Page Reports. To update an existing Injury/Illness go directly to the Athlete History page for the athlete you are seeing. DO NOT CLICK ON ENTER DATA FOR ATHLETE
#1: If you have your Medical/Injury Record set up as a favourite on your accounts page (e.g it appears as an opened record at the top of your Sidebar on the main system and as a button on the main home page), it will appear for you to click on to go directly to the athlete history for this Event Form.
#2: Alternatively, click on the Athlete History button and select the Injury/Medical Record from your Event Form list (not shown)
All of the records for the Event Form and the Athlete will be displayed. The example here shows that the older injury is marked as red, this is the one you would click on to open.
Once opened, you can then add in notes or update the athlete's status. Depending on how your system is set up you may need to update a SOAP table, or enter in a return to play/ training date.
To get to the appropriate field in the Form, or to get to your SOAP notes table*, you will need to click Next to move through the Form's sections.
*Please be aware that SOAP notes (or any data in a table) appear in a section on their OWN. The "table" does not display with columns, instead it displays with the date of entry and then a summary of the data entered for that SOAP row appears underneath the date. When you view the record on the main system it will display in a table view.
To update SOAP notes, you will need to click on "Add SOAP note" or :Add Assessment" (it will be a blue bar with a plus in it). The Table row will open as a record, not in a table row format (see the step below)
Choose the Date for the SOAP note, and enter in the relevant information. This is a generic SOAP note example. Your SOAP notes may contact separate fields for subjective, objective etc
#1: Select the Date of SOAP note entry by using the Back and Next buttons
#2: Enter in your SOAP note information
#3: Click Done when you have finished the SOAP note,
#4: Click on Add SOAP row to add in an ANOTHER row to the table in addition to the one you are currently creating.
N.B. Cancel will quit out of the SOAP row and it will not be created.
N.B. If you have entered by and entered on fields in your SOAP table rows, these will be completed automatically (just as on the main system)
The SOAP note that you have just entered will appear underneath any existing SOAP notes that have been entered
You MUST click on Save and Close to save the record. You may need to Click "Next" to move through multiple Sections to get to the end of the Event Form. Click on Save and Close to save any changes
N.B. This record has Related Events set up for it. These appear BEFORE the save and close/save and lock buttons on the Mobile version. On the main system most Medical records are set up with the Related Events and Related Events data appearing below the Save and Close buttons. However, it is not possible to set the system up this way on the iPad/iPhone system so they appear above the save and close buttons.
